Zephyr

The home for home experts

Zephyr is a hands-on partner for local HVAC, plumbing, and electrical businesses. It offers powerful, easy-to-use technology, extensive training and career development, and comprehensive benefits that aren’t offered anywhere else in the industry. Because well-equipped technicians make for satisfied customers.

As Zephyr was getting ready to launch, it needed a strong corporate brand and a strategic way to think about its local brand acquisitions.

We created an identity rooted in local heritage. The Zephyr logo is a modern take on American marks from the first part of the last century characterized by prominent holding shapes. It carries associations of customer service, quality, and no-nonsense authenticity. Bold, modular patterns of plumbing, electrical wiring, and HVAC ducts draw people in, supported by the insight that technicians favor literal graphical elements over abstract visuals. A modern type superfamily gives the identity lots of practical flexibility and range. Refreshing language brings the brand to life.

Gestural applications of touchpoints in the customer journey help us understand how the identity manifests itself when technicians, local founders, and homeowners interact with the brand. We sketched out moments for the brand to focus on, including a technician network, technician profiles, and how-to videos.

We created a brand architecture focused on simplicity, scalability, and reputation. Local brand identities share DNA with the corporate brand, while retaining a connection to their heritage through their name and origin story. A flexible logo system scales across the portfolio and works as large as a van and as small as a mobile app.
